Size of a ceiling fan
Size is really important when selecting your ceiling fan. If a fan is too large, it can overwhelm the space.
On the flip side, if the fan is too small, the airflow may be inadequate for that area.

What size of ceiling fan downrod do you need?
Choosing the right size downrod for your ceiling fan depends on the height of your ceiling. Here’s a quick guide:
8 to 9 feet ceilings: Typically, no downrod or a short one (3 to 6 inches) is needed.
10 feet ceiling: A 12-inch downrod is recommended.
12 feet ceiling: A 24-inch downrod works best.
14 feet ceiling: Opt for a 36-inch downrod.
16 feet ceiling: A 48-inch downrod is ideal.
18 feet ceiling: Consider a 60-inch downrod.
For every foot above 18 feet, add 12 inches to the downrod length. Always ensure the bottom of the fan is at least 7 feet from the floor for safety. This guide can help you pick the right downrod size for efficient air flow and a great look.
